This is a demonstration of a new product from Microsoft called Windows Surface.
The Windows surface "turns an ordinary tabletop into a vibrant, interactive surface." It is thought of as a revolutionary new product that will change the way we interact with furniture such as coffee tables and tables in restaurants. It gets rid of the need for a keyboard or mouse by using a combination of touch and gesture controls.
Although the method of accessing the information on Windows Surface is fairly impressive it dosnt really bring much new as it is converging old technologies such as maps and cameras into one space, which is what computers and phones are doing now yet in a slightly less portable fashion.
"Yet, history teaches us that old media never die-and they dont even necessarily fade away. What dies are simply the tools we use to access media content-the 8-track, the Beta tape."
